The Faber in the Dark

Sketch of the Faber

Faber's Tale :

Once upon a time, long ago in 2020, a certain stupid young boy - I - learned about the Servite Rosary. After a few months, I discovered a way to fit the Servite Rosary with the common 5-Decades and, being a Rosary-Smyth, made the first Binary Rosaries. Shortly enough thereafter, I discovered the Franciscan Crown and integrated it into the Binary Rosary to make the first Ternary Rosaries (i.e. : three in one).

Meanwhile, I was discerning with a certain Religious Order, and, being quite young and full of whippersnapping and probably rash zeal, decided to wear a Habit Rosary as a mere aspirant, before even entering the Order!

So one day in the dark of night when I could not sleep, having legitimately procured materials by shopping, I fashioned my first Ternary Rosary, but habit-sized, and wore it thenafter.

Soon, I was graduating the high school and preparing to join the aforementioned Order. But, as the story tends to go nowadays, I decided the Order was relaxed for the needs of my soul and discerned out. But I kept wearing the Rosary and realized more and more that no one seemed to mind. A few Priests and lay Catholics said they liked it, and everyone else acted as if it did not exist, which revealed to me how silly it was to feel awkward about it.

Only too late did I learn of the Carmelite Rosary, yet soon I integrated it with the Ternary Rosary and discovered the Quadrupline Rosary Cord. It was astonishing to see how Providentially all four Rosaries could be combined. Though not changing or switching the Rosary I wore already, I made a few Belt Rosaries for certain people and disappeared to live in the woods. After 18 months of deep contemplation, I came BACK filled with whippersnapping ZEAL!!!

And then I made this website....

Faber's Profession of Faith :

I am merely a layman with hardly any college experience, and this is hitherto unscrutinized by a Priest. Please forgive any theologically technical flaws, and regard it at your own risk.

III.

VII. Adhaereo auctoritati Magisterii ad Scripturas vere intelligendas, recognoscens Ecclesiam non habere Unitatem Quam Jesus Patri Nostro in Agonia Ejus rogavit, sine Divinae Revelationis singula et auctoritativa interpretatione, posse. Credo in successionem Auctoritatem Apostolicem in Episcopatu, quo Christus Gregem Ejus pascere hodie perseverat, Qua Auctoritate Ordines Presbyteratus, Deaconatus, omniumque Ordinum subditorum procedunt, secundum practicum antiquum Ecclesiae. Credo omnem Revelationem veram duodecim Apostolis a Christo traditam esse, a Spiritu Sancto confirmatam, a morte Sancti Joannis novissimi Apostolorum morientis clausam, ne Depositum Fidei augmentetur nec deminuatur, ut elementa sint solum amplius definita, intellecta, revelata.

VIII.

IX. Et secundum Traditionem Carmelitarum, Dei Genitricem a Sancto Elia Propheta Monte Carmelo praevisam esse, Ordinem Prophetarum a Sancto Elia ad Mariam imitandam et expectandam secundumque Dei mandatum institutum, talem Ordinem Sororem Suam Pentecoste Eam vidisse Sanctisque Apostolis deinde baptizatum esse eosdemque Prophetas adhuc ad praesentem diem indissoluta successione perseverare ut Fratres et Sorores Beatissimae Virginis Mariae, Dominae Montis Carmeli Matrisque Vitae Interioris, qui per Sancto Simone Stoch Scapularem acceperunt, cujusque spiritus in quibus multis in relaxationem et pigritionem obscurus restauratus est a Sanctis Teresia a Jesu et Joanne a Crucis et exemplificatus a talibus tamquam Sanctis Maria Magdalena de Pazzis, Theresia ab Infante Jesu et Faciei Sanctae, Elisabeth a Trinitate, et Maria a Jesu Crucifixo est.

X. Renuntio superexaltationem mei ipsius, quae egoisma et superbia est ;

cujus de individuale imperio et societate, quae liberalisma est;

cujus de passionibus, quae sensationalisma est ;

cujus de humanitate, ejus studio, scientia, cupiditateque, quae humanocentrisma est ;

cujus de solicitudinibus societatis trivialibus, quae saecularisma est ;

cujus de possessione, quae consumerisma est ;

cujus de Statu, quae globalisma, Marxisma, fascismaque est ;

cujus de deliciis carnalibus, quae hedonisma est ;

cujus de complacentia spirituale, quae indifferentisma et superficialitas est ;

cujus de spiritibus alteris, natura, aut hominibus, quae paganisma est ;

cujus de innovatione spirituale et doctrinale, quae modernisma est ;

cujus de anti-Maria, quae feminisma, transgenderisma, homosexualitas, falsaeque ideologiae sexus est ;

et omnes errores quas Una, Sancta, Catholica, Apostolica, et Romana Ecclesia renuntiat.

I. I believe in One God, Who is Love and Truth, perfectly Just and Merciful, with One Essence : infinitely simple and indivisible ; infinitely immutable and omnipotent ; infinitely incomprehensible and omniscient ; infinitely agile and omnipresent ; infinitely indeceivable and undeceiving ; infinitely invincible and all-reigning ; Light without darkness ; Life without death ; the One Source of all Truth, all Beauty, and all Goodness, and the very Truth, Beauty, and Goodness Himself.

II. I believe in One God of one Essence and Nature, yet with three Persons : the Father Who eternally begets the Son, from both Whom the Holy Spirit doth spirate and proceed.

III. I believe that, having been created by God, the first woman and man rebelled and that all are born of their seed with the consequences of their sin, whence proceed sickness, death, pain, loss, ignorance, weakness, and defeat. I believe that, to save the line of Adam, the Blessed Virgin Mary was beloved by God above and before all Creation, conceived immaculate, born without sin, and chosen to bear the Son of God. I believe that She was and remained a Virgin throughout Her sinless life and that God the Son became incarnate in Her, without wound, stain, or change to His Divinity, rather assimilating human nature to Himself, so that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully Man, having two Natures in one Person.

IV. Therefore I believe that the world is fallen and corrupted by the first sin, that everyone's carnal flesh rebels against his rational spirit, and that satan, a host of demons, and a real kingdom of hell tempt and torment all mankind and rule all who do not adhere to the Church that Jesus Christ Himself instituted on Saint Peter the Rock. I believe that there is grace, sin, and no other state : that grace comes through Jesus Christ alone, and that by no other faith than the Catholic Church can Man be saved.

V. I adhere to the Scriptures and the canon of the Scriptures as identified by the Holy Catholic Church. I believe in the foreshadowing and prophesy of Jesus in the Old Covenant and the revelation of Him in the New. I look for no other Messiah or reformer and regard as false anyone who calls himself the Christ or asserts himself as a prophet of any other christ or doctrine. I believe that the Catholic Church alone is the True, Mystical, and Visible Body of Christ, into Which we are grafted by Baptism : by Whose Sacraments, instituted by Christ, we participate in the Life, Death, and Resurrection of the same Christ our Lord. I believe in no degrees of participation : that Faith is definitive, that we know our Messiah, and that we are all called to be perfect and holy in Jesus' Image, that is, Saints (Sancti), as our Lord commanded and not merely recommended or suggested to us.

VI. I adhere to Sacred Tradition and the proper expressions of the Mystery of Calvary in the Sacred Liturgy. I believe that the Mass and the Passion are the same event in different modes and that the Altar is the true Sacramental Cross, as expressed in the Council of Trent, and that we participate in the same one Cross through our assistance at Holy Mass and our reception of the Seven Sacraments of the Church, by Which Sacraments the Holy Spirit comes into our hearts to dwell, transform, enlighten, and enkindle, so that we may be made new in the Interior Life of both prayer and mortification, without one of which the entire soul is lost. I believe that the Mass and Liturgy are inseparable and necessary for all people. According to the Tradition of the Church, I believe that the Holy Mass was instituted at the Last Supper and that the 12 Apostles were ordained Priests and Bishops of our Lord's New Covenant on that night so that the Fruits of the Cross might be transmitted to the Faithful through the Sacraments and glorify the Most High God, Who is made Our Father through Union with His Only-Begotten Son in the Body of the Holy Church.

VII. I adhere to the authority of the Magisterium to properly interpret the Scripture, acknowledging that without a single, authoritative interpretation of Divine Revelation the Church cannot have the Unity for which Jesus asked of Our Father in His agony. He believes in the succession of Apostolic authority in the Episcopacy, by which Christ continues to shepherd His Flock in the present day, from which authority flow the Orders of the Presbyterate and Deaconate and all the Orders beneath, according to the ancient practice of the Church. I acknowledge the authority of the Pope over the Universal Church and that the Holy Seat cannot be removed, vacant, or compromised, since this would indicate that the Church itself would also be compromised as the Visible Body of Christ both on Earth and in Heaven, which our Lord promised would never occur. I acknowledge that Saint Peter was ordained the first Pope of the Church, that then the Ministerial Priesthood was instituted, and that finally the Laity was incorporated at Pentecost. I believe that all true Revelation was handed down to the 12 Apostles by Christ, confirmed by the Holy Spirit, and sealed by the death of Saint John, the last of the Apostles to die, so that the deposit of Faith cannot be increased nor decreased, and the elements only further defined, understood, and revealed.

VIII. I believe in Mary as true Mother of God, though not God Herself, the perfect Daughter of the Father, Virgin Mother of the Son, and the all-Beautiful Spouse of the Holy Spirit. I believe that She was immaculately conceived and born without trace of sin. I believe that in the Sorrowful Passion of Her Divine Son, Mary the New Eve participated as Co-Redemptrix, was made Mother of all the Faithful at the Foot of the Cross, and crushed the head of the ancient deceiver. I believe that Mary was assumed by God, body and soul into Heaven, where She was crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth and made the Mediatrix of All Graces that the Faithful receive.

IX. I believe according to the Carmelite tradition, that the Mother of God was foreseen by the Holy Prophet Elijah on Mount Carmel, that the Order of the Prophets was by Saint Elijah instituted in imitation and expectation of Mary and according to the command of God, that such an Order beheld Her their Sister on Pentecost and were then baptized by the Holy Apostles, and that those Prophets continue to the present day in unbroken succession as the Brothers and Sisters of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Lady of Mount Carmel and Mother of the Interior Life, who through Saint Simon Stock received the Brown Scapular, and whose spirit, when obscured in many of whom by relaxation and sloth, was restored by the Holy Saints Teresa of Jesus and John of the Cross and exemplified by such as Saints Mary Magdalene dei Pazzi, Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face, Elizabeth of the Trinity, and Miriam of Jesus Crucified.

X. I reject the superexaltation of self, which is egoism and pride ;

that of the individual in government and society, which is liberalism ;

that of the emotions, which is sensationalism ;

that of mankind, his interests, knowledge, and preferences, which is humanocentrism ;

that of the trivial concerns of society, which is secularism ;

that of possession, which is consumerism ;

that of the State, which is globalism, Marxism, and fascism ;

that of carnal pleasures, which is hedonism ;

that of spiritual complacency, which is indifferentism and superficiality ;

that of other spirits, nature, or people, which is paganism ;

that of spiritual and doctrinal innovation, which is modernism ;

that of the anti-Mary, which is feminism, transgenderism, homosexuality, and false sexual ideologies ;

and all errors which the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic, and Roman Church denounces.
