The Voice in the Darkness : Our Calling to the Holy Rosary

"My daughter, My Novice, dost thou love the Lord? If thou lovest the Lord, listen to what I have to say to thee."

Brief :

Firstly, Apparitions are a matter of pious Faith and can be dangerous if not approached properly. Pious Faith is a faith in supernatural matters that are not binding on the Faithful as Dogmas or doctrine. Authentic pious faith is therefore subject to what Saint Louis de Montfort calls Divine Faith, which is Faith concerning infallible Church Teaching, such as the Incarnation of our Savior and the Immaculate Conception of our Lady. 

 

As a Virtue, Faith exists between the vices of superstition, in which a person believes too much, and skepticism, in which a person's heart is hardened. Thus, we should not believe things without sufficient evidence, witness, or authority. Neither, however, should we believe in nothing more than what we have to. Neither should we be slothful or acedic in our intellectual formation. 

​

However, we may notice that our Lord's mystics and visionaries tend to be women, children, and/or novices. We must be careful not to repeat the incredulity of the Apostles, who, hearing about the Resurrection from Saint Mary Magdalene and the other women, believed it not. Perhaps our Lord's favor to women in this aspect is a reward to the witness and fidelity of the women both at the Foot of the Cross and at the open Tomb.

Wherefore, the following syntheses, synopses, and portals are arranged to quickly educate and edify the Faithful in what we ought to consider. These Apparitions, except Garabandal, are confirmed by Catholic Apostolic Authority (at least Bishops) after serious and thorough investigation. Garabandal is included because it aligns very well with the others. Although it is not officially confirmed, we may approach it with prudent and pious faith, seeking out what Mary may be saying to us.

Necessary Resolutions :

Even if the Apparitions below were false, these Resolutions are not undoable or bad. Moreover, in our Faith, Holiness is a requirement, and laziness is not an option, so none of this should be offensive. FOR THE GODBEARER!!!

 

​Regular Resolutions :

  • Pray the Dominican or Carmelite Rosary every day : Fatima, Akita, Kibeho, Garabandal, Medjugorje [2024 : nihil obstat ; the Vatican acknowledges good fruits but advises that not all apparitions there are authentic], cf. Pontmain and Lourdes

  • If possible, pray the 7 Sorrows Rosary to obtain the grace of repentance : Kibeho

  • Look to the Immaculate Conception and Immaculate Heart : Paris, Lourdes, Fatima

  • Pray for sinners : Lourdes, Fatima, Garabandal, Akita, Kibeho

  • Pray for the Pope, Bishops, Priests, and the diabolic divisions and apostacies in the ranks of the Church Hierarchy : La Salette, Fatima, Garabandal, Akita

  • Offer sacrifices and do penance : ALL APPARITIONS!

  • Wear the Brown Carmelite Scapular : Fatima, Apparition to Saint Simon Stock, cf. Garabandal

At least once :

  • Consecrate yourself to the Immaculate Heart. Families, Nations, Dioceses, etc. also need to be consecrated to the Immaculate Heart by their respective leaders, by which devotion the world will be saved. Fatima

  • Make the Five First Saturdays Devotion : for the 1st Saturday of 5 consecutive months, go to Confession, assist at Holy Mass, pray 5 Decades of the Rosary, and attend Mary for 15 minutes, meditating on the 15 Mysteries of the Holy Rosary, with the intent to make reparation for sins against the Immaculate Heart. Primum - 1800s, France :

The 1st 4 Apparitions listed here all happen in France in the 1800s, the locations of which each happen in a different quarter of France : 2 North, 2 South, 2 West, and 2 East.

​

Rue du Bac, Paris :

On November 27, 1830, our Lady of Grace appeared to Saint Catherine Laboure on Rue de Bac (Street), Paris, France, and revealed to her the Medal of the Immaculate Conception, which became known as the Miraculous Medal. In 1854, the Dogma of the Immaculate Conception was defined by the Pope and was confirmed at Lourdes in 1858. Mary revealed Herself as full of Grace and Mediatrix of all Graces, Who bestows graces on the souls who ask for them. However, She laments that many souls do not ask for the graces She has to give, or else they waste them.

Mary says, "All those who wear it when it is blessed will receive great graces, especially if they wear it around the neck."

​

La Salette :

On September 19, 1846, Mary appeared to 2 children, Maximin and Melanie in La Salette, France, with stern warnings of chastisement and the coming of the antiChrist. Specifically, She prophesied the apostacy and lukewarmth of Catholics, the apostacy and lukewarmth especially of Priests and Bishops, terrible famine, fire coming from Heaven, the coming reign of satan and the antiChrist, and the return of Enoch and Elias as the two witnesses in the Book of Revelation. She came in tears describing how violent Her labors have been, restraining the Wrath of Her Son, and how words of blasphemy, the Lord's Name used in vain, and Sundays not given to God are especially damning. 

​

Lourdes :

On February 11th, 1858, Mary appeared 18 times to a young French peasant named Bernadette Soubirous (SOO-bir-oo), wearing a Rosary on Her right arm. Saint Bernadette was afraid at first, but the Lady smiled and motioned for her, so Bernadette took out her Rosary to pray but was paralyzed from doing so until the Mysterious and Beautiful Lady lifted up Her own.

​

The apparition shed light on how Mary receives our prayers to Her. As Saint Bernadette prayed, Mary reciprocated, holding the same beads as Bernadette but on Her own Rosary. She was silent during the Hail Marys and Our Fathers, as one listening, but joined with Bernadette on the Glory Bes. The Lady revealed how She does not only receive the prayers offered to Her but even accompanies her children in them.

 

Ultimately, in the face of a rising secularization in government and society, Mary asked that a chapel be built in Her honor and gave us the spring of Lourdes, by which thousands have been miraculously healed. She begged the Faithful through Saint Bernadette to pray the Rosary and do penance. Thus, when asked if Mary had said anything, Saint Bernadette replied, "Yes, from time to time, She says, 'Penance, penance, penance ; pray for sinners.'" This penance, if truly interior, will not fail to express itself outwardly ; as our Lord has said, a penitential tree will bear penitential fruit, and an impenitential tree will bear impenitential fruit (cf. Mt. vii.16).

A side note : The town of Lourdes is named after a Moorish Leader named Marat who occupied Lourdes with Muslim forces, was besieged by King Charlemagne, and converted to Christianity after our Lady impressed Her Beauty upon him. When he converted, he was renamed Lorus in Latin, which became Lourdes because of French. 

​

Pontmain :

In the year 1871, Mary the Lady of Hope appeared in Pontmain during the Franco-Prussian war, crop failure, and general despair. In response to the tragedies, the Cure of the Parish in Pontmain, Fr. Michel Guerin had his parishioners praying Rosaries for the war and other seemingly hopeless circumstances. On January 17, the Prussians were almost on top of the French city of Laval right by Pontmain, and many had lost hope in God.

 

One boy, Eugene, of 12 years, left the barn where he was working in the evening and saw a beautiful Lady. His brother Joseph joined him and also saw Her. Then however their parents joined them but could not see the Lady. Soon, the boys' teaching Nun, Sr. Vitaline, and the Cure were called, bringing with them 2 girls. Similarly, the girls could see the Lady, but the adults could not.

​

The 4 children immediately began describing the Lady. In the next 3 hours of the Apparition, the following words appeared on a banner at our Lady's feet : "Yet, pray, My children. God will hear you in a short time. My Son allows Himself to be moved."

​

The children, with the town joining them, began singing a hymn to our Lady of Hope, to which Mary gave the sweetest assuring smile. When the children sang a hymn to Jesus afterwards, Mary's face became deeply sorrowful as she contemplated an appearing red Crucifix labeled with the Holy Name. Finally, She the children sang the Ave Maris Stella, and She even directed the children and sang with them. The Apparition concluded with Compline.

​

At 1730, during the Apparition, General Schmidt of the Prussian Army was within sight of Laval. Strangely, rather than taking the city, his army turned around and spared the French. In the next morning, he said, "We cannot go further. Yonder in the direction of Brittany, there is an invisible Madonna barring the way." The Franco-Prussian War ended a week later on the 23rd, and the soldiers came back unscathed. The Apparition was recognized by the Church in probably the quickest process in history.

​

This Apparition likely prefigures the chastisements that Mary describes to such as Saint Lucia of Fatima. They remind us to not lose hope and to pray the Rosary, no matter how bad the chastisement turns. In the end, the Russian troops will be converted, and our Lord will hear our prayers.

Secundum - 1900s, not in France :

2 West, 1 East, and 1 South.

Fatima :

Mary then struck out for Portugal in May 1917, specifically the town of Fatima. The town is named after a Moorish (Muslim) princess who was captured by a Catholic knight. Amazingly, Princess Fatima fell in love with her kidnapper and converted to Catholicism.

​

There, Mary came to warn the world in 6 apparitions through the shepherd children Francisco Marto (aged 9), Jacinta Marto (7), and Lucia Dos Santos (10). She asked for the Consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart, the Five-First-Saturdays devotion of the faithful, the recitation of at least 5 decades of the Rosary daily, and for other penitential acts of reparation and sacrifice. Regarding these requests, Mary said at Fatima, “If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace ; if not, Russia will spread her errors throughout the world, promoting wars and persecution of the Church ; the good will be martyred ; the Holy Father will have much to suffer ; various nations will be annihilated.”

Thus, at Fatima, Mary made very clear:

  • “Pray the Rosary every day, in order to obtain peace for the world, and the end of [World War I]”

    • “With the Holy Rosary, we will save ourselves, we will sanctify ourselves, we will console our Lord and obtain the Salvation of many souls.” (Sister Lucia)

  • God wants to establish “devotion to Mine Immaculate Heart in the world.” All ought to consecrate themselves to it: countries, dioceses, priests, families, and individuals.

  • Wear the Carmelite (Brown) Scapular.

  • Pray for wayward and hell-bound souls, especially souls without anyone to pray for.

  • Do penance and reparation for the sins committed against the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

    • Regarding penance, Sister Lucia, O.C.D., in 1943 wrote, “This is the penance which the good Lord now asketh : The sacrifice that every person hath to impose upon himself is to lead a life of justice in the observance of His Law. He requireth that this way be made known to souls. For many, thinking that the word ‘penance’ meaneth great austerities, not feeling in themselves the strength or generosity for these, lose heart and rest in a life of lukewarmth and sin.”

    • At another part : “Our Lord said to me, ‘The sacrifice required for every person is the fulfillment of his duties in life and the observance of My Law. This is the penance that I now seek and require.’”

  • Make the Five-First-Saturdays devotion:

    • “Thou at least try to console Me and announce in My Name that I promise to assist at the moment of death, with all the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the First Saturday of five consecutive months shall

      • confess,

      • receive Holy Communion,

      • recite five decades of the Rosary, and

      • keep Me company for fifteen minutes

        • while meditating on the fifteen Mysteries of the Rosary,

        • with the intention of making reparation to Me” (Mary to Sister Lucia in 1925 ; broken up for clarity by Faber).

Garabandal :

The Church has not officially confirmed or rejected these Apparitions (non constat), but we can have a pious (tentative) Faith about the accounts, being of course docile to the Ultimate Ruling of the Holy Spirit, as Saint Louis de Montfort describes in the Tenth Rose of The Secret of the Rosary.

Specifically, on June 18, 1961, and in the following days, Saint Michael appeared to Mari Loli Mazon and Conchita, Jacinta, and Mari Cruz Gonzalez. The word spread in the small town of Garabandal, Spain, and the devout population began to join the visionaries at the site for Rosaries. Finally, Saint Michael spoke on July 1, saying, "Know ye why I have come? I have come to proclaim that the Blessed Virgin Mary will appear to you tomorrow as our Lady of Mount Carmel." The girls replied, "Tell Her to come quickly!"

​

The following day, being the Feast of the Visitation, Our Lady appeared with the Child Jesus, Saint Michael, and another Angel in a white dress, blue mantle, and holding the brown Scapular. She returned many times until 1965, speaking tenderly to the girls as a Mother about the various things in their lives, taught them how to pray the Rosary well, would play with them, and bless Sacramentals and other objects for the people. The girls would frequently go into ecstacy, looking up as they walked through the town, unable to see their feet, yet never tripping or stumbling. They would recognize Priests who were disguised as seculars, be unaffected by fire or pain, and be immovable from their position when looking on the Blessed Virgin. Scientists and spectators tried to explain the occurring incidents and phenomena and could not.

​

Our Lady foretold a Great Miracle that would occur in Garabandal on a Thursday at 2030 (8:30 pm), lasting 15 minutes and leaving a perpetual sign in the pine trees at that location. Further information given by Conchita implies that it will occur between April 6 and 17 on a Feast of a Martyr of the Holy Eucharist. The exact date of the Miracle will be announced by Conchita 8 days before it happens. Preceding the Great Miracle by 3 months or weeks will be the Warning (Conchita herself cannot remember which), directly from God, consisting of a worldwide Illumination of Conscience, appearing in the sky, and revealing to each the state of his soul, including all of his sins and good works. This will be a terrifying experience for many, and some will die of fright, no longer able to distract themselves from the inner pains of their conscience. ​If the world does not repent after the Warning and the Miracle, the Chastisement referenced in the other Apparitions here listed will wipe out a great part of humanity.

 

On October 18, the 1st Message of Garabandal was revealed, etched in the pine trees at the site of the Apparition, saying, "We must make many sacrifices, perform much penance, and visit the Blessed Sacrament frequently. But first we must live good lives. If we do not a chastisement will befall us. The cup is already filling up, and if we do not change, a very great chastisement will come upon us."

On June 18, 1965, during the 2nd Vatican Council, while Liturgical modernizations were being implemented, the 2nd Message came thus, "As My Message of October 18th hath not been fulfilled and hath not been made known to the world, I tell you that this is My last Message. Before [1961 - start of Vatican 2], the cup was filling up. Now [1965 - near its end], it is overflowing. Many Cardinals, many Bishops, and many Priests are on the road to perdition and are taking many souls with them. Less and less importance is being given to the Eucharist. You should turn the Wrath of God away from yourselves by your efforts. If you ask for His forgiveness with sincere hearts, He will forgive you. I, your Mother, through the intercession of Saint Michael the Archangel, ask you to amend your lives. You are now receiving the last warnings. I love you very much and do not want your condemnation. Pray to Us with sincerity, and We will grant your requests. You should make more sacrifices. Meditate on the Passion of Jesus."

In the face of so much irreverence, immodesty, pride, and lukewarmth given to the Blessed Sacrament, heed our Lady's words. I must also, for my conscience, recommend heavily the Traditional Latin Mass, if it is available to you. At least research the matter, "lest suddenly overtaken by the day of death, we seek space for repentance and are not able to find it" (Traditional Responsory for the Sprinkling of the Ashes on Ash Wednesday). Without intending to discourage the Novus Ordo, I leave an article below on the adherence to Tradition, hoping it proves illuminating, even if you have already researched it.

Akita :

Our Lady struck out for Akita, Japan in 1973 to Sister Agnes Sasagowa, who was then a Novice with the Institute of the Handmaids of the Holy Eucharist, expressing deep sorrow and suffering, and foretelling the Chastisement. She begs personal consecration to Her Immaculate Heart and That of Her Son, reparation for the sins of the world, prayers for the Pope, Bishops, and Priests, and complete personal conversion from sin and lukewarmth.

On October 13, 1873, Her 3rd Apparition, Mary said, "If Men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the Flood, such as one has never seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither Priests nor Faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by My Son [perhaps the Miracle referred to at Garabandal]. Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the Bishops, and the Priests.

"The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one wil see Cardinals opposing Cardinals, Bishops against Bishops. The Priests who venerate Me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres...Churches and Altars sacked ; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises, and the demon will press many Priests and Consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.

"The demon will be especially implacable against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of My sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will no longer be pardon for them."

​​

"...Pray very much the prayers of the Rosary. I alone am able to save you from the calamities which approach. Those who place their confidence in Me will be saved." (Underlines added)

On October 6, 2019, Sister Agnes' Guardian Angel appeared to her, saying, "Cover yourself in ashes, and please pray a Rosary of Reparation each day. Become like a child. Offer sacrifices every day!" The news came to America on the following 27th.

Kibeho :

By beautiful Providence, our Lady appeared as the Mother of the Word to a young schoolgirl in Kibeho, Rwanda : Alphonsine Murmureke, on November 28, 1981, begging for sincere prayer, conversion, and perseverance. Hard pressed by criticism and skepticism, Alphonsine begged for Mary to reveal Herself to another, and so it happened. Mary appeared also to Nathalie Mukamazimpaka on January 12, 1982, revealing the evil state of the world, the effect of its sin, the beauty of redemptive suffering, and the need for prayer without ceasing.

​

Still, the skepticism brought great cruelty on the girls, and one of their greatest persecutors was Marie Claire Mukangango, However, on March 2 of the same year she too began reporting apparitions, and the sudden conversion proved very convincing to other skeptics. Moreover, the investigators of the situation found it very hard to explain otherwise the consequences of what had happened in the school, which included daily Rosary meetings. As at Fatima, Mary revealed Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven to the seers and prophesied the Rwandan genocide of 1994. She appeared to the girls until November 28, 1989, 8 years after the 1st apparition.

​

Our Lady tasked Marie Claire especially to help spread devotion to the 7 Sorrows Rosary, which She taught her how to say on March 6. According to our Lady, anyone that prays the 7 Sorrows Rosary faithfully will receive the grace to repent and merit the conversion of the hardest hearts, along with special freedom from obsessions, addictions, self-ignorance, guilt, and hardness of heart. Marie Claire obeyed faithfully until she died in the Rwandan Genocide. Her words include, "One must meditate on the Passion of Jesus and on the deep Sorrows of His Mother. One must recite the Rosary every day, and also the Rosary of the 7 Sorrows of Mary, to obtain the favor of repentance."

Synthesis :

The Past :

  • In the 1300s, the Black Death ravaged Europe, the heresy of the Flagellants prospered, the Church split between 2 Popes, and the Restoration prophesied by Mary to Saint Dominic did not happen, because devotion to the Rosary was neglected. Ministry of Blessed Alan de la Roche 

  • In 1864 satan and many demons were let loose on the world to lead it further from the practice of the Faith, leading the nations into deeper lukewarmth and apostacy. Those that are left in the Faith have mostly become lukewarm, including many Priests and Bishops who lead their flocks into perdition. The Church has been infiltrated by Her enemies. La Salette, Akita, Garabandal, words of Saint Maximilian Kolbe

  • In 1884, on October 13, exactly 33 years before the last Apparition at Fatima, Pope Saint Leo XIII heard the devil boasting to Jesus in the Tabernacle that he only needed 75-100 years to destroy the Church, to which Jesus said, "You have the time. You have the power. Do what you will." Immediately, Pope Leo penned the Saint Michael Prayer and instituted the Leonine Prayers for the protection, liberty, and exaltation of Holy Mother Church, to be said after Low Masses, which gradually ceased to be said after September 26, 1964, almost 80 years later, when the Novus Ordo Liturgy was being formulated. 

  • Throughout the 1900s, the Great Depression, spread of Russia's errors (Communism), World War II, the spread of materialism and godlessness, etc. occurred because people did not return to God, and the visionaries at Fatima were overlooked.   • In 1994, a lack of prayer and penance allowed the Rwandan Genocide to occur as a result of clan warfare : a prefigurement to the era of the Chastisement. Kibeho, cf. La Salette

The Future :

  • Good Prelates and Priests will continue to be opposed and censored by their confreres. Akita, La Salette

  • There will be a universal Warning, including an Illumination of Conscience and a great Sign in the sky. Garabandal

  • There will be an irrefutable Miracle at Garabandal that will remain until the end of the world. Garabandal (questionable status)

  • If Mankind is not repentant, there will be a Chastisement worse than anything the world has ever witnessed. The only strength of the Faithful will be the intercession of Mary, especially through the Holy Rosary, and the Sign. Russia will be chosen as Heaven's instrument to chastise the world for its sin and unfaithfulness. This prophesy is conditional. Technically, we can still avoid it by our prayer and penance. The 7 Sorrows Rosary in addition to the 5 or 6-Decade Rosary can win the grace of repentance for the world. La Salette, Fatima, Garabandal, Akita, Pontmain, Kibeho

  • Russia will conquer much of the world and drive out all religion that it can. Having marched into France with a black star, they will have a miraculous conversion, and their star will become a white Star of Mary. They will be the instrument of the Immaculate Heart and convert the world to the One Catholic Church. They will drive the Muslims out of Europe into North Africa, where the Muslims also will convert to the One Faith by another miraculous conversion.   • During or at the end of the Chastisement will likely be what is called the 3 Days of Darkness, which will wipe out many good and bad alike, as a manifestation of the Wrath of God. Akita

  • The prayers of the persistent Faithful will rise up to God. Through the Holy Rosary and the Scapular, the world will be restored. It will first be made like a desert and after the Chastisement will be a 25 year era of Peace, in which there will be a miraculous prosperity.   • People will become complacent in the prosperity and grow cold. A Precursor to the AntiChrist will wage war after the 25 years, trying to make himself comparable to God. La Salette

  • The AntiChrist will be born of a Catholic Bishop and a false Hebrew Nun, already having teeth, and, refusing grace from the beginning, being a "devil incarnate". His brothers will be evil like him, though not to the same degree and quality and will lead armies helped by the forces of Hell. They will feed on impurity and accomplish great feats and miracles.   • When the AntiChrist's Kingdom is established, there will be 10 Kings under him and he will rule over the whole world. Worse than in our society, the Antichristians will be drunk on amusements and persecute the Church. The Faithful will be sustained by God's grace and consolation.   • The Patriarch Enoch and Prophet Elias will come again to reprove the AntiChrist, preaching and performing miracles with the Power of God, converting many and appearing to all. After 3 1/2 years, they will be killed by the AntiChrist and left in the streets for 3 days. They will then be resurrected and assumed into Heaven. La Salette, Apocalypse of Saint John

  • Jesus will slay the AntiChrist by the Breath (Spirit) of His Mouth. There will be one last era : the Church will reign over the whole world.

  • The hearts of many will grow cold before our Lord comes in glory. Apocalypse of Saint John
