Codex Rosarii Quadruplini

Schematics and Explanations of the Quadrupline Rosary Cord

Rosary.QRC.1.jpg

Brief :

The basic story of the Quadrupline Rosary Cord (QRC) is on the Parchment about the faber. The QRC is a Rosary Loop that fully integrates the overlaid Loops of the Dominican (5 Decades), Servite (7 Weeks), Franciscan (7 Decades), and Carmelite (6 Decades) Rosaries into one simple loop. Thus, rather than carrying multiple Rosaries, I only carry the one that facilitates any Rosary I will to offer.

As I was designing the QRC, gradually from 2020 onwards, I also discovered its ability to facilitate other devotions that would also require other beads. For example, the QRC can be used for the St. Michael's Chaplet (9 Triads), the Holy Face Chaplet (5 groups of 6), the Carmelite pattern of Paters (25/50, 5 x 7, 15, 7) prayed by Lay Brothers (Sisters) instead of the Divine Office as specified in the Rule of Saint Albert, and the Novena to Saint Therese (24 Glory Bes). In short, the QRC is a miraculous multitool for Catholic devotions.

Terms are defined in the Glossarium Rosarianum.

Schematic :

QRC Schematic

There are 3 different types of beads on a QRC : the Decade Paters, the Aves, and the Servite Paters.

  1. The Decade Paters (PN) : the Our Fathers for the Dominican, Franciscan, and Carmelite Rosaries, 10 beads apart ;

  2. The Servite Paters (S-PN) : the Our Fathers for the Servite Rosary, 7 beads apart ;

  3. The Aves (AM) : any other bead.

Necessarily, the Servite Paters become Hail Marys for the Decade based Rosaries, and the Decade Paters do so for the Servite Rosary. Therefore each bead must be visually and manually differentiable.

The operations for each devotion :

The Dominican Rosary, or any 5-Decade devotion, starts on the Crucifix and proceeds as normal. One disregards the Servite Paters. At (ii), the middle of the 3rd Decade, one turns around and finishes at the Center (i).

The Servite Rosary starts with the Act of Contrition on the Apex Pater, left of the Servite Centerpiece (ii).

  1. The 3 Hail Marys are recited between the Apex and (ii).

  2. The First Week starts on (ii), treating the Decade Paters as Hail Marys.

  3. The Servite Paters (iii) are slightly separated from the Aves on this QRC. Here, there is a slight knot (iv) separating the Servite Paters, but the differentiation can be done differently.

  4. The Centerpiece (i) is treated as the 4th Hail Mary in the 4th Week. Thence one proceeds back to the Servite Centerpiece (ii) and recites the concluding prayers.

Start the Franciscan Rosary on the Centerpiece (i) and proceed as on the Dominican, ignoring the Servite Paters.

  1. However, the 3rd Decade continues left past the Servite Centerpiece (ii) to the Apex Pater.

  2. The loop on the left of the Apex Pater is the 4th Decade of the Franciscan Crown. Therefore the Apex Pater is the Our Father for the 4th and 5th Decades.

  3. Pray the Concluding Prayers from the Centerpiece (i) to the Crucifix. The Introduction can be modulated to prefer the Dominican or Franciscan Rosaries.

Start the Carmelite Rosary as the Dominican.

  1. However, continue past the Servite Centerpiece (ii) to the Apex Pater.

  2. Recede from the Apex Pater back to the Centerpiece (i), without using the loop to its left.
